California files to join U.S. antitrust lawsuit against Google

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – California requested to join the U.S. Department of Justice’s antitrust lawsuit against Google on Friday, making the state’s lawyer primary the first Democrat to overtly assist the litigation.
The division in October accused the $1 trillion California-based agency of illegally using its market muscle to hobble rivals, and was joined by 11 completely different states when it was filed.
“California is not making substantive modifications to the criticism. In particular, California is not searching for to add any new particulars or claims,” Attorney General Xavier Becerra acknowledged inside the submitting, together with that it couldn’t delay the case.
Google has denied wrongdoing, and the company has acknowledged that its search engine and completely different merchandise are dominant on account of buyers need them.
